We are looking for a Fleet Maintenance Mechanic / Supervisor at our Truck Maintenance facility in Coquitlam, BC . We are looking for an innovative, detail oriented and proactive individual capable of creating and driving change.
MUST BE A RED SEAL HEAVY DUTY TRUCK MECHANIC
Shift : Monday Friday, 1pm to 10 pm or designated.
The job is located in Coquitlam, BC
If candidate does nit reside within 1 hour travel from Coquitlam, BC relocation would be necessary

Ensuring culture of safety and personal excellence is practiced in every aspect of maintenance, the Fleet Maintenance Mechanic / Supervisor will be responsible for directing, monitoring, and improving daily activities of the fleet and shop facilities.
Responsible for training other mechanics, including coaching and documenting discipline, when necessary. The Maintenance Supervisor fosters collaboration between and among personnel and creates a culture of Servant Leadership.
3 - 4 years of experience as a general mechanic working on large diesel vehicles.
Red Seal Heavy Duty Truck Mechanic
1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role, supervisor or other management role supervising 5-10 other mechanics.
Thorough knowledge of safe working practices, DOT, other Federal and Provincial regulations.
Proven ability to maintain a safe and accident free shop environment
Must be knowledgeable of and capable of repairs in an efficient and effective manner.
Must be able to communicate effectively, read, estimate, calculate, interpret, measure and document in writing.
Reading, writing, and communication skills including high comfort level with computers and technology.
Visually inspects vehicles and parts; adequate hearing.
Work performed indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
Subjected to loud noises, vibrations, working on hard surfaces, lubricants and chemicals, fumes, dirt and inherent hazards of mechanic work
Review safety protocols and practices regularly with the maintenance team and ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.
Supervises mechanical tasks as assigned. Assists in training other mechanics.
Reviews shop status and vehicle repairs in process.
Meets with the Maintenance Manager to receive daily repair orders and priorities.
Assigns repairs and tasks to technicians.
Assists mechanics in troubleshooting and diagnosis.
Constantly reviews vehicles that are in the shop for additional repairs or unsafe conditions.
Monitors shop safety and housekeeping.
Keeps the Maintenance Manager informed of the status of vehicles that are in the shop for repairs.
Assists in reviewing and / or road testing major or safety related repairs.
Makes sure completed work areas are clean and all tools returned to their proper use.
Adheres to all company work rules and policies, safety rules, and properly uses all equipment entrusted to him for the performance of his tasks.
Manage related administrative matters for team, maintenance of employee records, records of all preventive and corrective maintenance performed, recording of all information into RTA Maintenance Software, provide input for yearly budget for approval.
Help set departmental goals to align with targets and performance objectives established by division’s leadership.
