The Lead Information Technology Security Specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing key security practices within IT Enterprise and assessing and recommending security solutions that is tailored to meet the IT Security needs of Mitel.
This position is based in Kanata, ON
Advise and solve Security issues involving the network and systems operations for Mitel Cloud and Enterprise.
As a Core IT Security team member maintain and improve processes, systems and operations of the security program and security operations.
Perform day-to-day activities with the security tools and services used at Mitel to prevent, detect and respond to security issues, incidents and risks.
Ensure audit trails, system logs and other monitoring data sources are reviewed periodically and are following policies and audit requirements.
Gathering information, analyzing and assessing the threat landscape at Mitel and recommending ways to improve.
Recommend and coordinate the implementation of technical controls to support and enforce defined security policies.
Consult with IT and security staff to ensure that security is factored into the evaluation, selection, installation and configuration of hardware, applications and software.
Assist teams with the development, maintenance and documentation of security procedures
Support compliance initiatives that fall under the Core Security team.
Generate reports and measures / metrics against benchmarks and provide specific reporting requirements.
Analyze issues, facts and available information to develop logical solutions; researching inconsistencies found in data;
drawing correct inferences from information and making recommendations that support business decisions.
Ensure effective implementation of Vulnerability management program and security monitoring program and working with network and system engineers to participate in vulnerability identification and patching.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields or equivalent experience
6+ years of relevant information security experience including dealing with IT security issues
Experience in incident response and security operations
Knowledge of datacenter operations and networking
Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools
Collaborative interpersonal style that cultivates cooperative and supportive partnerships
Strong communication skills, excellent listening skills, and high degree of professional acumen
Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities to analyze security requirements and relate them to appropriate security controls
Thorough understanding of enterprise security architecture and design, network design concepts and fundamentals
Ability to analyze situations and incidents and determine the larger picture relevance Good understanding of IDS / IPS and various methods to detect and prevent network attacks.
CISSP, CEH, GIAC, ISC2 or ISACA certifications recommended
