Housekeeping can be humdrum work when stripping beds, cleaning bathrooms and dusting, though the team relies on one another to get the work done, and tries to have fun doing it! Your Responsibilities Will Include
Assisting the Housekeeping Manager in all tasks that impact the Rooms Stay-over and Arrival Process. This includes all activities from the moment of guest arrival to final departure.
Performing opening and closing daily duties for department.
Supervising associates who clean, stock and maintain guest rooms, public areas, corridors, offices, rest rooms, conference meeting rooms, and holding them accountable to Hotel standards.
Ensuring that teams work together as a unit, ensuring all aspects of a room are in working order and that the room is cleaned to the highest quality standards.
Assisting in scheduling, payroll, ordering, stocking, planning, training, and other duties as dictated.
Participating actively in a multi-functional work environment and assisting in hands-on housekeeping work when needed (part of role will include shifts assisting as Room Attendant and / or Houseperson as dictated by business volumes).
Being supportive of creativity and innovation, and maintaining a high level of professionalism and quality service.
Ensuring all service standards are being met according to the Sun Peaks Grand Hotel.
Minimum 1 years supervisory / managerial experience.
Post-secondary education in Hospitality or a related field a definite asset.
Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent eye for detail.
Strong team player and a self-starter with excellent organizational skills.
Awareness and utilization of environmentally sound practices and compliance with local standards.
Technical skills should include experience in Word, Excel, Windows, and Opera (property management system)
Hands-on operational supervisory style.
Team player and a self-starter, able to work independently and effectively as required.
Ability to motivate and support a team in an innovative and multi-tasked environment.
Ability to take on projects and see them through to completion.
Awareness and use of environmentally sound practices.
