As an integral member of Nutrition Services Department, the principal responsibilities of the FOOD SERVICES SUPERVISOR include : providing direct & indirect supervision to staff members of Cold Assembly (CA, patient trays), Ware Washing (WW) and / or Nutrition Distribution Center (NDC);
performing Food Services Supervisory responsibilities - supervising tray assembly and delivery; ware washing operations, storage / inventory controls, production etc.
orders food / non-food supplies and keeps appropriate supplies in respective work areas and to meet services requirements, per established procedures and as directed by Manager;
ensures strict compliance with HACCP, WHMIS and OHS guidelines; enters menu / inventory information into CBORD computer program;
participates in hiring & evaluates staff performance; provides education / staff in-services sessions and meetings with staff members;
schedules staff and does payroll; performs educational responsibilities i.e., mentor Dietetic Interns, food services supervisor students;
maintains on going communication with the Manger and other key players to ensure information is disseminated in a timely manner;
participates in department quality improvement program; performs cross functional duties as required; performing other duties consistent with the job classification.
Graduate of an approved Food and Nutrition Management Program at a Community College or a University Graduate of a Food and Nutrition program
Eligible for Membership in the Canadian Society of Nutrition Management (C.S.N.M.) required
Food Handler Certificate required
Eligible for or completion of a Food Handler Certification Program
Five (5) years related supervisory experience preferred
Therapeutic nutrition knowledge / knowledge of food preparation and allergies
Computer literacy using Microsoft Office

Ability to focus on priorities and activities to meet the day to day requirements
Knowledge of CBORD computer program preferred
