The Project Coordinator, Office provides administrative and engineering services on a variety of projects related to the construction as directed by the Director, Construction.
The Project Coordinator assists in the overall planning and coordination of the construction activities to ensure that the project is constructed in a timely and cost effective manner and also assists the Construction Manager and Superintendent in coordinating construction activities at the field level.
Project Coordinators may be assigned to run smaller projects under the direction of a Project Manager or work alongside a Project Manager on larger projects.
This position is safety sensitive and will require Drug and Alcohol testing as a condition of employment.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Project Coordinator performs some or all of the following duties :
Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with overall project performance including planning, costs, schedule, execution, quality control and project status.
Support change order processes, including pricing, negotiating, processing and assessing cost and schedule impact prior to reviewing with the Project Manager.
Read and interpret the construction contracts, drawings and assist Project Execution Team, QC staff and Superintendents in the interpretation of construction agreements.
Prepare and maintain granular work schedules for review with the Project Manager weekly.
Support Quality Control and adherence to contract requirements.
Log, process and issue site instructions and change orders.
Maintain plans, specifications, cost and materials estimates, work completed, material yields, subcontracts and reports and ensures latest issues are distributed as required.
Coordinate procurement of construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of materials in accordance with the terms of the purchase order.
Support project closeout, including archiving documents, maintenance / warranty manuals, deficiencies, as-builts and warranty work.
Support project activities throughout lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources scheduling (including subcontractors), documentation, budget, and other factors necessary for success.
Compare quotes and scopes with management team to qualify potential sub trades.
Prepare permit documentation to acquire permits in various municipalities.
Assist Construction Manager in reviewing site feasibility including install, craning and transportation costs.
Work with Production Manager and the Quality department through the build to ensure schedule delivery in accordance to contract.
Ensure all safety policies and procedures are followed accordingly. Work with various contractors to get them approved through our HSE department to work on our sites and relay expectations.
Wear required Personal Protective Equipment at all times during work hours on site.

Strong computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.

Familiar with contracts and contract law.
Successful completion of high school diploma.
Minimum of 2-5 years construction-related work experience.
A technical college diploma / degree or equivalent combination of technical training and / or related experience will be considered an asset.
Office environment with a flexible work schedule, potentially requiring work on evenings and weekends.
Trained, as necessary, in required safety and operational protocols to be on the Production floor.
Up to 50% travel and work on construction sites as necessary.
