Job Overview

Reporting to the manager, diversity and inclusion (D&I), you will be responsible for supporting the governance, advocacy and thoughtful development of D&I projects, programs and practices for Suncor.

This will also include providing support in the design, execution and continuous improvement initiatives of enterprise-wide programs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Integrate D&I into our people processes and programs by partnering with talent process owners
  • Participate in the planning, design / re-design and implementation of programs, processes, practices, events and tools that support Suncor’s D&I strategy, applying effective change management principles to facilitate success
  • Collaborate with our human resources and business partners, and work closely with existing employee resource groups, to support our strategies and business needs
  • Engage with external stakeholders to conduct research and analyze best-in-class practices and provide input to design recommendations
  • Provide evaluation and representation of diversity data such that it provides a strong basis for key management decisions
  • Track, measure and analyze benefits and impacts as required
  • Experience and Education :

  • A minimum of five years of experience within Human Resources, preferably including being part of a D&I team
  • Experience and / or involvement in developing, assessing and improving the effectiveness of D&I initiatives and programs is an asset
  • Bachelor’s degree with preference for Human Resources Management or a related discipline (e.g. Psychology, Business, etc.)
  • Skills and Knowledge :

  • Strong communication, change management, and advising skills
  • Ability to influence without authority, engage, collaborate, and build solid relationships with various internal and external partners
  • Ability to diagnose business needs, adapt approaches, and support the implementation of practical solutions aligned with program principles and standards is a preference
  • Effective organizational skills to prioritize and manage projects and initiatives within tight deadlines
  • Strong knowledge-base of key talent management programs is an asset
  • Effective relationship management skills
  • You continually seek greater knowledge about the systems and processes, in order to understand not just what you do but why you do it
  • Working Conditions

  • Occasional business travel to Suncor locations may be required
  • This position in based in our Calgary office
