Alberta Health Services (AHS) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, and innovative leader to be a part of the Alberta Cancer Prevention Legacy Fund (ACPLF) team as a Director of Evaluation, KTE and Project Management.
This position will play a major role in ACPLF’s performance and the execution of strategic initiatives that guide our mission and purpose of both AHS and ACPLF.
The Director is responsible and accountable for providing senior leadership and expertise to the innovation teams across ACPLF to achieve project, stream and departmental goals with a deep knowledge and expertise in project management, evaluation, Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) and people management.
The ACPLF aims to provide strong operational, administrative, and performance management processes to increase efficiency, improve integration, demonstrate accountability, and achieve the highest performance.
The incumbent will be central in providing direction to performance management and process improvement.This is an exciting opportunity to join and further empower a dedicated provincial team committed to making a difference in cancer prevention, screening and research.

The Director of Portfolio Performance provides vision, leadership and direction to the ACPLF program areas to ensure strategic goals are achieved.
The Director also works with a diverse team including integration leads, an evaluation, project management and health marketing lead.
As a key member of the leadership team the director will be responsible for the following : Overseeing quality, efficiency and delivery for a variety of streams, for example : ACPLF human resource projections, partnership agreements and contract processes, ACPLF contracts and procurements to ensure the timely acquisition of equipment and services for projects, consulting with legal as needed.
Implement human resource strategies that attract and retain highly motivated staff with the requisite skills, knowledge, and experience.
Provide mentoring and development for staff creating an environment that supports and fosters continuous learning. Work with ACPLF Executive Dyad and Senior Scientists to create and maximizes opportunities for collaboration across divisions within PPIH, SCNs, AHS and with other experts provincially and nationally.
Provide support to and collaborate in the development / implementation of the PPIH Pulling Together Strategy. Provide oversight for ACPLF evaluation, performance measurement plan and logical model development.
Oversees financial processes to ensure standardization and achieve successful financial audits while ensuring accurate contract and financial information to enable timely and effective decision-
making. Supports a portfolio-wide performance management and evaluation strategy that aligns key performance indicators to strategic priorities.
Oversees continuous quality improvement to support data driven decision making. ACPLF communication plans in collaboration with ACPLF Advisory and Director of Community, Workplace and Health Marketing.
Required Qualifications :
Director of Evaluation, KTE and Project Management Master’s degree in Business Admin, Health administration, Evaluation, public / population health, health services or related field.
Minimum of 8 years’ experience in a senior management role in an organization of significant size, complexity and diversity.
Advanced writing skills for different audiences e.g. government, public. Expertise in strategic thinking, taking into account performance indicators, long-
term goals and assessing options and implications.Expertise in quality improvement and quality control. Ability to manage professional staff, develop and oversee budgets in a complex, diverse and rapidly changing environment.
Progressive leadership experience in health services delivery, including practical experience in strategy and policy development, change leadership, evaluation and project management.
Strong understanding of acute and primary care sector
Additional Required Qualifications :
Experience in health promotion, community development, and communications.Formal professional leadership training.Experience in applied research, evaluation and complex health care environments.
Ability to coach, teach, and to inspire and build confidence in others.Ability to manage change and create innovative solutions for complex and diverse issues.
Diplomacy, leadership, strategic thinking, organization, and the ability to build consensus, maintain objectives, and focus on achieving goals and supporting others in achieving goals while balancing competing priorities.
Ability to foster collaboration and develop and sustain partnerships.
