The Assistant Brand Manager will look for white space’opportunities in themarketplace by identifying new product introductions;
conducting marketresearch; generating product requirements; determining specifications, managingtimelines, pricing, integrated marketing plans for product introduction and developingmarketing strategies
Is involvedin recommending the nature and scope of present and future product lines byreviewing product specifications and requirements;
appraising new product ideasand / or product or packaging changes
Assessesmarket competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products
Brings newproducts to market by analyzing proposed product requirements and productdevelopment programs
Supportsthe introduction and marketing of new products by developing time-integratedplans with sales, advertising, and production.
Establishes,maintains and provides detailed knowledge of assigned categories includingsales reporting / Nielsen data interpretation, category insights, market trends,consumer needs and competitive threats.
Leverages categoryanalytics, including sales performance, market dynamics, promotional impact,product mix and profitability to develop insights and apply them against thecurrent line as well as products in development.
Manages theday to day business processes to ensure efficient and effective businessmanagement, to achieve targets
Creates and collaborateson custr-specific proposals and programs
StrongFinancial acumen and proficiency with AC Nielsen
Experiencein consumer research : identifying research needs, action standards, andtranslating consumer learning into actions.
Works withthe Senior Brand Manager to develop plans / programs that will maintain and drivesales respecting the product positioning and pricing strategy along with marginand profit goals
Developscategory plans by incorporating market, shopper, customer and consumer insightsto build strategy plans
Works withMarketing Team to ensure continuity of communication strategy across allconsumer touch points (traditional mass media, digital and social media,merchandising, packaging, PR, community events, retail activations)
Is a BrandAmbassador in all approaches to the business
Assists theSales & Marketing team on the ground with events, demos, and trade shows.
Some travelmay be necessary.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
At least 3+ years of experience in a similar role in either Product / Assistant Brand Management with previous CPG / Food experience
An undergraduate university degree in business is required.
New product development and innovation expertise
A self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment
A flexible, can-do’ attitude that positively influences and energizes the team
An understanding of Branded and Private Label Business practices
An ability to think and act analytically and well as creatively
Experience in working with cross-functional teams
Exemplary time management and organizational skills
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
Demonstrated experience in decision making, strategic thinking, and problem solving.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with short turn-around deliverables.
