Currently, our rapidly expanding team is looking for a Regional Medical Assistant / Medical Office Administrator Trainer for the East who can work for us on a full-

time basis, supporting our Toronto, Etobicoke, Brampton, and Oakville locations. Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is a must.

The Regional Medical Assistant / Medical Office Administrator Trainer is responsible for supporting multiple physicians and for optimizing patient care by fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of both a Medical Office Administrator and / or Medical Assistant, as required.

The trainer is also responsible for conducting a needs assessment and supporting management in providing the education, training and evaluation of other Medical Assistant(s) and Medical Office Administrator(s).

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

  • Provide training and on boarding of new Medical Assistants and Medical Office Assistants including but not limited to developing training schedules, introduction to EMR, assigning homework and training materials and medical office assistant and administrative policies and procedures
  • Provide on going training, support and feedback to existing Medical Assistants and Medical Office Assistants, with special focus on policies and procedures.
  • Initiate practical assessments of potential new hires for both the MA and MOA Roles
  • Conduct monthly MA data entry audits and quarterly MA role audits and report back to the manager of any discrepancies

  • Maintain physician EMR preferences and update as required
  • Maintain MA resource and training manual and reference syllabus.
  • Maintain Administrative policies and procedures manual on an ongoing basis
  • Develop and teach MA training workshops quarterly
  • Adhering to clinic schedule and LMC’s SLA regarding patient care
  • Provide back up support and coverage to Medical assistants and Medical Office Assistants on an ongoing basis
  • Access to a reliable vehicle to travel to various LMC sites is a must
  • Requirements

  • Post secondary education in a related medical field such as Medical Office Administration, Medical Laboratory Assistant, Personal Support Worker, or Registered Practical Nurse
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology and medications is an asset
  • Proficiency in measuring various vital signs using a manual stethoscope
  • Experience in an EMR environment
  • Experience in training in a medical environment
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Superior time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail & accurate data management skills are required
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written) with strong ability to teach and train others on the job
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and Outlook)
