Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Outpatient Services, the Clinical Therapist, Adult Outpatient Services, is primarily responsible for the provision of individual and group therapy services to adult clients (age 19 and over) with mental health and addictions issues within a multi-

disciplinary team environment.


  • Master’s Degree in a Mental Health discipline required Psychology preferred (MS Psych), others considered with specific Mental Health & Addictions experience (MSW, Clinical Nurse Specialist (MN) or Masters in Counseling (MCT) with a clinicial undergraduate degree registered with NSACT will be considered
  • Registration with the appropriate provincial professional licensing body required.
  • Two years’ experience in the provision of individual, family, and group therapy programs to adult clients in an outpatient mental health & addictions setting is preferred.
  • Experience in the delivery of Brief Solution Focused therapy required.
  • Strong clinical skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team required.
  • Nonviolent crisis intervention required (or willingness to be trained upon hiring).
  • Experience with the development, implementation and evaluation of clinical programs is an asset.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure client focused care across services and providers.
  • Previous work attendance may be considered.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Candidates with previous experience in crisis work and / or advanced training in Suicide Risk Assessment will be given preference.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

  • Hours of Work

  • Long assignment (20%) position : 15 hours bi-weekly
  • Beginning January 2, 2019 with an anticipated end date of January 2, 2020
