As Senior Project Manager you will be working on projects across the North Shore Region and various other Coastal sites part of the Provincial Health Services Authority portfolio.

The successful candidate will require experience in planning and management of medium to large sized health care projects, as well as to have skills in stakeholder coordination and writing of briefing notes for senior management.

You will need to demonstrate abilities in handling multiple stakeholders’ group simultaneously as managing large design teams.

Critical thinking and the capability to integrate long term strategic considerations and short term tactical requirements is an asset.

As Senior Project Manager, you are responsible for overseeing and supporting the planning, design and / or implementation of assigned medium to large facilities projects with a high degree of complexity across Vancouver Coastal Health

Responsibilities may include :

  • Manage facilities projects including site planning and rezoning, scoping and feasibility, solution development, briefing notes, detailed design, project implementation and management;
  • Procuring and managing consultants and contractors;
  • Leadership to project teams by assisting, liaising and coordinating with clinical and project planners, consultants and various user groups to ensure that the project process and outcomes are consistent with the project scope, budget and schedules;
  • Establishing project team structure and supporting team staff thru assigned work.
  • Preparing detailed project charters, plans and objectives and reporting project status regularly to the Manager and within LMFM project reporting system;
  • Keeping partners aware of project status and ensuring effective communication channels are in place;
  • Ensuring successful and coordinated completion of project components; facilitating consensus with stakeholders as needed to implement project methodologies and project components.
  • To join our team you have :

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering or related discipline
  • A professional designation would be an asset
  • Seven to nine years' recent, related experience in all phases of project planning / design / construction management for a large multi-site organization.
  • PMP qualifications would be an asset
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered
  • Preferences will be given to those who have experience and a solid track record in the following areas :

  • Experience working on new build as well as renovation projects
  • Working independently to execute all tasks required with minimum oversight
  • Project planning
  • Developing project budgets and construction estimates
  • Consultant and contractor procurement, negotiations and management
  • Project management of multiple concurrent construction projects
  • Team building and communication skills
  • Creative problem solving
  • Providing high levels of quality and service to customers

    This Regular Full Time opportunity is based primarily at LGH in North Vancouver , but may engage projects at other Coastal locations in BC involving traveling.
