Description Rolls-Royce Civil Nuclear Canada is part of our Nuclear division, and operates within the Canadian and US Civil Nuclear market.
We provide engineering, parts and tooling to support the nuclear operators as well as waste handling and transportation solutions for the refurbishment and decommissioning markets.
During 2015 we added an engineering office in Pickering, Ontario and completed a significant expansion of our Peterborough, Ontario manufacturing facility.
Provide leadership for all engineers / designers in their team; responsible for PDRs
Maintain, develop and recruit suitably qualified and experienced designer and engineering team members.
Provide appropriate resource to approved engineering scope of work in accordance with the specified customer objectives
Responsible for the quality of the output from the team members to ensure their team members adhere to RR processes and quality management systems
Ensure that resource utilization targets and financial commitments are achieved by effective resource management
In association with the Designer and Engineering specialists ensure that effective knowledge management systems and engineering capability is maintained and developed
Ensure that RR intellectual property is protected
Require to undertake technical work as well as work management
Actively promote, encourage and support the identification and implementation of continuous improvement both within and outside their immediate sphere and prompt action across the wider team
Act as an advisor and coach to mentor junior members providing technical advice and guidance as well as support on development and training
Accountable for directional responsibility for allocating and prioritizing work. Guiding day to day activities through mobilization of the team
Monitor quantity and quality of technical work
Lead discussions and actions to improve relationships between others to find common ground to resolve issues
Will be able to exchange complex technical idea and information in a concise and logical way
Technically contribute for tasks on a significant project or a number of technical packages or non-technical multi-disciplinary packages
Responsible for planning and driving commitments delivering to the right quality on time and to budget
Education level Qualifications Qualifications :
Minimum College diploma in Mechanical and / or Electrical Design or its equivalent
P. Eng preferred
Minimum 5 years experience
2 years in a supervisory or lead role preferred
CAD, Solidworks or similar software experience
