Job Description

SUPERVISOR : Maintenance Manager


The Maintenance department is seeking for a self-driven Inventory / Material Coordinator who would assist the team at the Enerkem Biofuel refinery by performing routine work order on tools and equipment.

The main responsibility will be to work closely with the maintenance supervisor / manager, the team leaders, engineers, buyers and administrator in order to develop / maintain an efficient inventory & material control system.


  • Develop and maintain a system for the control (in / out) and inventory of the parts / spare parts;
  • Develop and maintain a system for the control (in / out) of the tools;
  • Develop and maintain a system for the control (in / out) of the safety equipment such as harness, air mask, glove, air bottle, etc, including maintaining of record and expiration date;
  • Develop an inventory / material control including flow chart, tagging system, scanner that utilizes computerized techniques;
  • Establish, set schedule, and direct a periodic-cycle physical inventory count of all warehouse items; Assist in determining the proper Vendor and quantity inventory levels.
  • Supply all the necessary inventory historical information requested by management;
  • Ensure proper material storage / preservation per Vendor requirements;
  • Follow-up procedure in term of documentation that pertain to every piece of material / equipment. Documentation shall be properly filed and transfer as per define work flow;
  • Continuously evaluate the operation of the inventory control and make recommendations to ensure maximum efficiency;
  • In coordination with the team leader, organize job boxes for the work orders;
  • Provide training to the staff for an efficient work flow.
  • Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience

  • 5 to 7 years of similar experience working in a manufacturing environment (in an operating refinery or plant setting in the Oil & Gas industry is an asset)
  • Ability to understand and follow all safety, environmental, quality and operational procedures and policies
  • Other abilities

  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate
  • Cooperative, constructive approach to situations that requires communication with other team members
  • Possess interpersonal skills to deal with a wide range of people, in a wide range of situations, often in the context of a team environment
  • Concern for the safety of individuals and for the protection of the environment
  • Applicants should be comfortable with : working outdoors in all weather conditions, working at heights, in a noisy, dusty and hot environment, fast-paced environment
  • Positive / can do approach, great attitude and willingness to roll up your sleeves and pitch in as required
