What is the opportunity?

The Branch Platform Agile Delivery Team is seeking a senior software engineer with experience in agile delivery, solution architecture and development to work on strategic CRM banking initiatives and provide technical execution leadership to an Agile solution team.

Working closely with the Product Owner, your core responsibility is to mobilize the solution team to design features, prioritize tasks, and actively contribute to all facets of the solution team’s delivery and implementation.

You proactively take action to solve difficult problems, drive technical team improvements, as well as coaching and mentoring.

What will you do?

  • Provide technical leadership to the Agile solution team as well as expert counsel and guidance to the Product Owner
  • Ensure that technical solutions and designs balance the needs of project constraints and strategic directions, while maintaining consistency, performance, and appropriate levels of reuse
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to business and technology partners and senior management, selecting the appropriate approach based on the audience
  • Leads by example and contributes to all development, configuration, and documentation tasks of the solution team
  • Responsible for continuously evaluating, introducing, and implementing new technologies and technical methodologies to meet new business needs and new architecture directions
  • Leads by example and regularly participates in activities like hackathons, POT’s, POC’s etc.
  • Provides direction, expertise, feedback, coaching and development to build the capability of junior technical development staff.
  • Must-have

  • This is a technical leadership role; 7 10 years of development and solution design experience with complex multi-tier distributed applications / systems.
  • Expert level of knowledge in enterprise design best patterns and best practices.

  • Experience with Java solution design and development including supporting tools and frameworks like Spring, Git, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus
  • Experience with Web Application development frameworks like AngularJS
  • Hands on experience implementing CRM solutions (new features, functionality)
  • Capability to establish and maintain effective partnerships and relationships with global architecture areas, Application Development, T&O management, RBC business groups, Global Technology Infrastructure, and others
  • Experience with vendor management and integration
  • Experience leading Agile delivery and team management
  • Nice-to-have

  • Experience with DevOps, Cloud Computing technology platforms; Pivotal Cloud Foundry, BlueMix, Azzure, or AWS
  • Experience with API design and development best practices
