About Us Alberta Education provides leadership, direction and oversight in the development and delivery of an innovative, collaborative, student-

centered education system. We support students, parents, teachers and administrators from Early Childhood Services (ECS) through Grade 12.

The Teacher Relations Branch is responsible for developing and maintaining an effective labour-relations framework for the education sector in Alberta.

It does this by leading and advising the ministry on all aspects of teacher relations, the collective bargaining process, and labour policy.

  • Teacher Relations Branch provides operational support to the Teachers? Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA), including research, data, and analytics services;
  • collective agreement implementation and interpretation; central table dispute resolution; and labour relations capacity building.

    There is a two-table system for teacher collective bargaining in Alberta : central and local. TEBA is the statutory corporation responsible for central table collective bargaining with the Alberta Teachers?

    Association (ATA) on behalf of 61 public, separate, and francophone school boards. School boards bargain individually with the ATA during local table bargaining.

    As the Teachers Relations Analyst you will :

  • Provide research, costing and data analytics to support TEBA in informing the teacher bargaining mandate and strategy;
  • Plan and coordinate surveys, research, and data analytics projects;
  • Develop comprehensive reporting to support internal and external stakeholders.
  • As the successful candidate, you possess a proven ability for conducting environmental scans, collecting and analyzing data, administering surveys, and drafting reports that facilitate effective decision-

    making. Your solid and professional communication skills (both written and verbal) will serve you well as you provide recommendations to senior management and build collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, including school board senior administration.

    For this role, we are seeking individuals who can demonstrate the following competencies :

  • Systems Thinking : Consider how compensation, workforce and labour trends, policy and legislation link to and inform education sector collective bargaining.
  • Develop Networks : Build connections with internal and external stakeholders to receive and provide intelligence as it relates to teacher relations and negotiations.

  • A university degree in a related field (e.g., social sciences, business administration, human resources, or labour relations) is required.
  • A minimum of three years' experience applying research methods and data to facilitate effective decision-making is required.
  • Knowledge of the collective bargaining process and / or education system in Alberta is an asset.
  • Experience working in the public sector is an asset

    Salary $2,588.03 to $3,394.66 bi-weekly. $67,547.58 to $88,600.63 annually.
