CaseWare is looking for a talented technical writer to develop engaging information for our product lines. This person will be responsible for the support and success of end users, through informative content across various online and offline mediums.

The successful candidate will demonstrate an understanding of their audience, to effectively deliver information in the right format and presentation.

  • Develop engaging and informative content for end users across multiple product lines.
  • Participate in sprint planning and other Agile ceremonies to coordinate project scope and timelines.
  • Adapt existing content to develop scripts and storyboards for multimedia deliverable.
  • Audit and maintain existing content library regularly to ensure quality, consistency and accuracy.
  • Apply industry best practices for information management and localization through use of authoring tools and source control.
  • Review user interface strings and participate in user experience and design sessions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of subject matter, use cases and scenarios related to your product team.
  • Assist with process optimization.
  • Assist customer service and technical support teams where applicable.
  • Participate in the development of learning (training) materials.
  • Prepare files for translation and work with the translation coordinator to ensure on-going changes are tracked for translation.
  • Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Professional Writing, or Computer Science (or demonstrated experience).
  • Technical Communication certification (preferred).
  • A minimum of three years of writing experience in the software industry.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills to effectively work with developers and non-technical staff alike.
  • Strong editing skills and impeccable knowledge of grammar and usage.
  • Self-directed, organized and detail oriented.
  • Experience using Visio, Photoshop, Illustrator, or other tools to create effective illustrations of concepts, workflows, and methodology (preferred).
  • Experience using Madcap Flare and Git or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting and auditing is a significant asset.
