Position Overview :
Reporting directly to the Power Systems Sales Manager for the Electric Power Generation business unit, this individual will be responsible for providing the best solutions to our customers in an assigned industry.
This exciting position will align with the corporate strategy to improve customer satisfaction through service excellence.
This individual will be instrumental in aiding the development of providing the best solutions to our customers, including the marketing of all Finning and Caterpillar products and services.
This position requires a person who possesses the skills and determination necessary to develop strong, positive customer relationships.
The primary responsibility of this individual will be to focus on Electric Power Product Sales The successful candidate will have the ability to work independently, be highly motivated, have a dynamic personality, and have the ability to manage a diverse customer base and an expanding territory with minimal supervision.
Previous sales experience along with an understanding of diesel and natural gas generator sets and power generation related systems will be required.

Prospect new project business within the Finning Canada territory and circle of influence
Evaluate project specifications and contracts
Prepare proposals, project schedules, and financial ROI feasibility studies as well as conduct and / or lead project and market sector feasibility studies
Actively manage the assigned industry through effective use of Finning’s ERP and CRM
Develop new accounts by leveraging the products and services offered by Finning and Caterpillar
Ability to review and understand bid documents and present best solution to customers with Estimating / Engineering teams' support
Prepare and present sales proposals
Review and negotiate terms and conditions with support of Finning's legal team
Ability to meet deadlines, meet and exceed the sales target and EBIT
To activate profitable parts and service revenue based on corporate and territory targets
To ensure all sales documents and customer agreements are completed in consistent, accurate and timely manner
Represent the company in a professional and ethical manner

Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills
Previous customer account management skills
Caterpillar product knowledge
Exceptional Time Management & Strong Interpersonal Skills
Strong Electrical and Mechanical knowledge and understanding of Engines and Electrical power generation and Electrical distribution equipment
Understanding and applying the basic selling principles
Business acumen and understanding of support systems, credit and financing
Education and Experience :
Post-secondary diploma or degree program in a related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in the power generation business in a technical sales role.
Experience in evaluating detailed project specifications and contracts
Proven sound mechanical and electrical knowledge / experience
