Tasks to be Accomplished

  • Responsible for coordinating, executing, and actively managing onboarding activities for all new hires, internal transfers from the date of transfer, as well as offboarding of employees.
  • Be the main point of contact for all new hires within their first 3 months of employment. After initial integration period, ensure a smooth transition to HR Business Partners, and Employee self service
  • In partnership with the HR Service Center, HR Business Partners, & Training & Development, develop a comprehensive onboarding program for new hires
  • Introduce new hires to L3 WESCAM environment & culture.
  • Connect new hires to essential resources
  • Work with HR Business Partners, and leaders to ensure delivery of dept orientation, training completion, & periodic check-ins.
  • Ensure that all documents related to onboarding of new hires are collected, and processed as required.
  • Works with hiring managers, department admins, HR Business Partners to inform, and educate onboarding & offboarding processes.
  • In collaboration with Core HR process owners, document and maintain all processes.
  • Assign orientation buddies for new hires with line management. Work with training dept to develop training program for orientation buddies.
  • Conduct Welcome Orientations on date of hire
  • Work with internal service dept stakeholders (Security, EH&S, IT, etc.) to ensure that related content, and delivery from each dept is incorporated into orientation or onboarding program
  • Coordinate building tours and ensure stakeholders are available to provide a brief description of their department’s function and role where required
  • Assist HR Business Partners with setup and facilitation of New Manager Assimilation programs as required
  • Help our people transition into new roles with interdepartmental onboarding process
  • Facilitate seamless transition from first day to job specific training with each dept.
  • Aid meaningful introductions and new connections between new hires
  • Promote a welcoming environment and a culture of support
  • Remain a constructive resource to new hires and those who’ve transitioned roles
  • Conduct regular reviews until completion of first year (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months & 1 year from hire date)
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent communications skills
  • Solid technical, analytical and communication skills
  • Innovative, creative, proactive self starter
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Knowledge of HR systems and HR processes
  • Ability to build rapport with employees and stakeholders
  • Experience & Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent work experience
  • CHRP certification or greater (or other equivalent certification) is an asset
  • 2+ years experience in HR
