Position Overview :
Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, this individual will be responsible for the field maintenance, troubleshooting, adjusting, overhaul, repairs and assembly of a variety of Caterpillar draglines, rotary blast hole drills, electric rope shovels and hydraulic mining shovels based on different projects the team is involved in.
These positions will be supporting mines throughout the Western Canada region.

Trouble shoot, maintain, repair all expanded mining equipment
Interface with customers and product sales and service representatives
Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems using hand and power tools
Assist the supervisor with various tasks
Perform routine maintenance work
Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
Various related duties as required
Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
Specific Skills and Knowledge :
Ability to work safely and efficiently; follows all company policies and procedures
Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
Ability to multi task, detail oriented, positive attitude and a team player
Ability to work alone or as part of a team
Strong mechanical aptitude with a knowledge of parts and service
Problem solving, repair and troubleshoot equipment in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to frequently bend, squat, climb, lift and push / pull 45 pounds without assistance
Ability to work outside in occasional incremental weather conditions required
Working at heights and confined spaces are occasionally required
Education and Experience :
Journeyperson Heavy Duty Technician Certification (Red Seal an asset)
Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
Experience on mining mobile equipment considered an asset
Shovel assembly experience would be considered an asset
Understanding of the Caterpillar expanded mining product line will be considered an asset
Valid Driver’s License
Shift work may be required
Overnight travel may be required
Overtime may be a requirement of this role
Banked time and vacation time will be in accordance to the Expanded Mining LOU
Depending on the project, the position may report to Shawn Rhodey or Melissa Tugnum
Provide a successful Driver Abstract contingent to be hired.
