Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is one of the world's leading independent international medical relief organizations. We work in areas where there is no medical infrastructure or where the existing one cannot withstand the pressure to which it is subjected.

MSF in Canada recruits personnel for field missions, raises public awareness for MSF international work, and raises funds from the general public.

The MSF movement globally is committed to fostering a work culture that ensures respect and responsible behavior, with initiatives to increase education and response capacity regarding misconduct to eliminate abuse across the organization.

MSF Canada fully supports this commitment and is proactively contributing through local actions, as well as contribute to the efforts of the movement at large that will further these ambitions.


Act as the focal point and facilitator for moving forward initiatives of MSF Canada that contribute to increasing MSF Canada’s education and response capacity regarding responsible behavior.

Specifically, to provide surge capacity for specific goals and initiatives inside MSF Canada, as well as advancing the clarification of our specific goals and related actions supporting the movement more widely.


Education and experience :

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in HR, workplace investigations, occupational health & safety, human rights, grievances, mediation / dispute resolution, or other related field
  • Knowledge of code and non-code related harassment, and best practices for managing complaints and workplace investigations is an asset
  • Experience with the international humanitarian aid sector is preferred, ideally in MSF
  • Values and Competencies :

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English demonstrated in previous roles that require communication with diverse actors on sensitive matters
  • Exceptional emotional intelligence with consideration for feelings and needs of others.
  • Able to express oneself, verbally and in writing, in a clear and concise manner.
  • High respect for confidentiality of information and demonstration of discretion, diplomacy and tact
  • Capacity to work both independently and with a dynamic team in a fast-paced office environment
  • High level of integrity with demonstrated commitment to the humanitarian principles of MSF and respect of the MSF Charter and Behaviour Commitments
  • Analytical, methodical, with attention to procedural fairness.
  • Creative, solution-oriented and pragmatic.
  • Ability to speak, read and write French is an asset
  • Legal working status in Canada is a requirement.
