What are the goals of the team and how can you contribute to its success? The team is responsible for the development of new business from high net worth individual investors and their families.

The focus is on investment management opportunities, including trust and executor services. To be successful in the role, the incumbent should be experienced in a broad range of investment disciplines, including trust and estate topics, as well as dealing with the complexities of clients’ investment objectives and related service needs.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the VP-Wealth Counsellor?

  • Establish and maintain regular contact with known referral sources or client introductions, and to employ Fiduciary Trust Canada services.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries for information about Fiduciary Trust Canada and its services.
  • Develop and maintain communication with other Fiduciary Trust colleagues to ensure new business opportunities are identified and acted upon in a timely manner.
  • Leverage a variety of client communication & prospecting tools.
  • Coordinate presentation of Fiduciary Trust's capabilities, including drafting proposals, scheduling meetings with prospective clients and their advisor(s).
  • Coordinate appropriate pre- and post-meeting follow-up with the client prospect and their advisor(s) and relevant Fiduciary Trust team members.
  • Support the Fiduciary Trust Marketing team in evaluating and developing effective sales tools and presentations.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of High Net Worth client and business development events.
  • Participate in Investment Counsel and Personal Trust meetings and provide feedback from the field.
  • Contribute to strategic planning meetings as they relate to business development issues.
  • Develop territory sales plan consistent with corporate sales strategy & objectives, tailoring where appropriate to regional opportunities and needs.
  • What ideal qualifications would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree Finance, Business or a related discipline.
  • Completion or enrollment in CFP, CIMA, CFA Level 1.
  • Minimum of 5 years of investment sales and servicing experience in the high net worth or private client marketplace, including working directly with professional Advisors and clients.
  • Experience or course work in the Personal Trust field is an asset.
  • A quantifiable track record of sales success and managing and building relationships in the high net worth market.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability the establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with clients and internal colleagues
  • Ability to Travel is required. The role is based in Calgary, and incumbent will support Western Canada.
