The Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver is looking for a Banquet Server who would be reporting to the Director of Banquets.

The Banquet Server is responsible for serving guests needs by providing exceptional knowledge of food and beverage menu items as well as information regarding preparation methods in a banquet function setting either here in the hotel as well as off property at outside catered events.

This position is considered part-time on-call and works well for someone looking for extra hours and income to supplement another job.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills :

Applicants must hold a valid permit for Canada at the time of applying.

Previous banquet serving experience in high end catering or hotels ideally.

Ability to commit to at least 2 shifts per week.

Position involves both day and evening work.

Ideally works for someone who already has another p / t job elsewhere and who is looking to supplement those hours.

Must be physically fit and able to lift heavy trays of food.

In this role you will :

  • Offer predetermined menu selections to each table; maintain knowledge of each selection’s origin, taste and preparation method;
  • communicate guest orders including any special needs or requests to the Banquet Manager or kitchen; check completed kitchen orders with the guest’s original order;
  • transport items to the guest table in a timely manner to ensure proper food quality.

  • Assist in set-up of linen, glass, silver and accent pieces for each function according to the banquet event order.
  • Anticipate guest needs, ascertain satisfaction, and respond urgently and appropriately to guest concerns and requests.
  • Breakdown, clean and set-up of tables, buffets and food stations.
