The work you’ll do

This position is responsible for the development of advanced manufacturing processes using innovative technology to manufacture components more efficiently and reduce cost.

Highlights of your new role

  • Lead the design and installation of instrumentation and control systems including process and automation systems, data systems, process control, and utility PLCs
  • Develops new plant processes and equipment, as well as modifying existing ones
  • Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production and manufacturing activities and systems
  • Accountable for the analysis, design, development, implementation and support of applications in support of the Formed Plastics business unit
  • Participates in project and team meetings interacting and collaborating with team members and other departments as appropriate
  • Develops new plant processes and equipment, as well as modifying existing ones
  • Provide solutions to technical problems and recommendations for improvements in production and manufacturing activities and systems
  • What you’ll bring

  • University or college degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing or Mechatronics Engineering coupled with 10 years of experience in a manufacturing / plant setting, ideally within the automotive industry
  • 3-5 years experience with automation, controls or robotics
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, 5S, and Kaizen is a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to convey concepts to a wide range of audiences including customer or senior management presentations
  • Sound comprehension of statistics and analytics
  • Proficient data and evidence-based problem-solving skills
  • Innovation with the ability to think outside the box
  • An ability to work on dynamic, multidisciplinary teams
  • Strong understanding of the mechanical component of the material flow process
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on in a development environment
