Responsible for monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, variance analysis, and preparation of financial statements.

Act as business advisor to Branch Managers to assist in improving the success and profitability of each business unit.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for preparation of journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation, maintenance of accounting records in conformity with ASPE, and assist with month-end close activity
  • Responsible for timely completion of P&L variance analysis on a monthly basis
  • Possess strong business judgment and the ability to identify opportunities to improve business processes
  • Act as business advisor to network of Branch Managers across Ontario offering training and collaborative solutions to improve the success and profitability of each business unit
  • Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities in a timely manner
  • Assist with year-end external audit with preparation and review of all audit requirements
  • Prepare HST / GST sales tax filings and prepare the remittances
  • Manage customer rebate programs
  • Prepare monthly rent roll for all locations, maintain lease information and complete CAM reconciliations
  • Role involves coordination with multiple stakeholders throughout the organization
  • Support the design, implementation and ongoing enhancement of financial reports
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting and participate in special projects as required
  • Qualifications :

  • Self-driven worker who is able to adapt and drive change
  • Ability to manage tight monthly deadlines and delivery high quality work
  • CPA designation with minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information proficiently, develops alternative solutions
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, good time management skills and able to balance multiple priorities effectively
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Working knowledge of BlackLine, SXe and COGNOS is an asset
