GHD is currently seeking an Senior Hydrogeologist who is looking to develop their technical skills and grow their career within a dynamic privately owned professional consulting firm.

The position provides the opportunity to support and grow the existing Hydrogeology Team within our Calgary or Edmonton office.

The successful candidate will work with a team of geoscientists and engineers to play a lead role in developing and executing hydrogeologic investigations and characterization projects in Western Canada.

Responsibilities Include :

  • Data compilation, reduction, and interpretation, and, preparation of environmental reports
  • Groundwater flow modelling, pump test data analysis, and contaminant migration analysis
  • Interpretation and application of provincial and federal acts and regulations
  • Development of remedial requirements and corrective action plans
  • Work carried out by other geoscientists and environmental technologists
  • Hydrogeologic advice provided to external and internal clients
  • Preparation of technical work plans and proposals
  • Implementation of behavior based safety
  • Skills, Competencies & Qualifications :

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience within Canada with P. Geo. License
  • Relevant Bachelor’s Degree in geology or hydrogeology
  • A Master’s degree in earth sciences or hydrogeology would be considered an asset
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated field experience in soil classification, overburden drilling methods and soil, sediment and groundwater sampling protocols
  • Proven project and client management skills
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication is required to effectively express technical information
  • Valid driver's license (an MVR check will be performed prior to hire)
  • Able to travel to project sites throughout Western Canada.
