    Internal Control Compliance’s (ICC) mandate is to manage a controls program that ensures regulatory compliance to CEO / CFO Certification (NI 52-

    109) for controls over financial reporting. This is achieved through the continuous monitoring and evaluation of internal controls, from both a design effectiveness and operating effectiveness perspective and working with Management to ensure appropriate internal controls are in place.

    Key Accountabilities / Activities :

    Reporting into the Senior Manager, IT Compliance, this position is responsible for leading the effective execution and evaluation of all IT controls as part of NI 52-

    109 compliance across Loblaw and CP REIT. As a successful candidate you will be exposed to several business units helping strengthen the existing control environment.

    Specifically, this role will be responsible to :

  • Develop, implement, and execute an efficient and effective IT risk management compliance program to evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of IT controls
  • Lead efforts to analyze technology, business, and control environment impact based on emerging IT issues, risks and regulations
  • Proactively build and manage working relationships with all levels of management to ensure key IT risks and associated controls are identified and documented in up-to-date narratives
  • Ensure that IT risk management compliance program addresses applicable laws, regulations, rules, and business risks
  • Work to ensure that professional standards are maintained in the execution of annual compliance testing of IT controls for in-scope entities
  • Collaborate with process owners to develop remediation plans to address any identified IT control deficiencies, effectively monitor the status, and validate completion by the due date
  • Work with business partners on improving IT processes and controls, and create proper review and monitoring cycles
  • Partner with IT business stakeholders and SAP teams to automate Business Automated IT Controls (BAITs)
  • Look for opportunities to utilize data analytics to assist in monitoring controls and / or trend analysis
  • Work with IT and the business to assess Segregation for Duties (SOD) issues
  • Perform any ad-hoc requests by Management as necessary
  • Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, computer science, information systems, or related field
  • Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is required
  • Other qualifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified in Risk and Information systems Control (CRISC) will be considered strong assets
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in IT compliance or audit
  • Excellent knowledge of COBIT, COSO, risk based audit methodology, internal auditing, and control standards
  • Prior experience in developing control frameworks for companies that are required to comply with SOX or NI 52-109 would be an asset
  • Knowledge and experience with SAP preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with data analytics, and tools, such as ACL or Microstrategy, is a plus
  • Highly developed judgment and problem solving skills to analyze risk issues and assist with formulating solutions
  • Well-developed analytical and research skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation), excellent interpersonal and people management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously and proven ability to deliver in a fast paced environment
  • Experience in retail, wholesale, real estate industry an asset
  • Ability to travel nationally for approximately 1 week every quarter
