Job Summary

The Finance and Accounting team is seeking an accounting manager for immediate employment in the Montreal, QC office.

The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to :

Supervises an accounting department of 2 to 3 people

Oversees GL accounting and reporting function for Montreal, including :

Reviewing and approving monthly bank and GL reconciliations

Approving monthly journal entries

Preparing monthly reporting packages for Assistant Controller

Supports local tax team for tax and regulatory reporting

Assists with ad hoc reporting for internal and external needs

Oversees general accounting for small international operations, including :

Approving cash disbursements

Reviewing monthly reporting packages received from international locations

Approving monthly journal entries

Coordinating local tax payments through tax team

Coordinating with auditors for local statutory reporting

Manages accounting for Canadian joint ventures, including :

Approving cash disbursements

Reviewing monthly reporting packages

Reviewing consolidation requirements of new joint ventures

Reconciling investment and equity accounts for unconsolidated JVs

Coordinating with Corporate accounting for public reporting requirements

Maintains accounting controls and company policies

Monitors and analyses accounting data and produces financial report

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

8+ years of experience

Proven work experience as Accounting Manager

Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases (Oracle preferred)

Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

Proven knowledge of accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

High attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to direct and supervise

Bilingual in English and French (Spanish would be a plus)

CPA preferred

3+ years in public accounting preferred
