TCA Technologies is looking for an experienced Applications Engineering Specialist to help us develop exceptional manufacturing solutions to meet our customers’ equipment requirements.

TCA custom designs and manufactures world class assembly and test equipment to exceed our customers’ expectations. Our customers are medical device manufacturers, automotive component, alternative energy, and consumer product manufacturers.

We develop manufacturing solutions to help our customers remain leaders in their markets. We are looking for visionaries who can transform a list of project requirements to a practical, cost effective, reliable manufacturing solution, and to communicate that vision to all project stakeholders in the form of clear proposals, and accurate estimates.

Responsibilities

Drawing on your knowledge and experience with a broad range of manufacturing technologies and practices, and working as part of our applications engineering team, you will develop best in class solutions for our clients.

You will write winning proposals, and develop accurate cost estimates for those solutions.

Applications engineers are responsible for :

  • Reviewing customer requests for quotations
  • Participating in discussions with customers and internal resources to review concepts
  • Working with suppliers to ensure we are proposing best in class solutions for our clients
  • Developing equipment layouts, writing winning proposals, and developing accurate project estimates of labour and material requirements
  • Identifying project risks and solutions to mitigate the impact of these
  • Maintaining an expert level of knowledge of automation products and processes
  • Maintaining accurate records of target accounts, opportunities, proposals, projects, contacts and correspondence in company databases
  • Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automation manufacturing process, along with some exposure to the methods, materials, machines, and tools of the trade
  • University degree or college Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and oral. Comfortable making presentations at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and within the company
  • Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and CAD software (SolidWorks)
  • Ability to break down complex projects into elements and to prepare estimates, budgets, and other reports as required
  • Candidates must have a valid passport and drivers licence with which to travel to customer sites seamlessly within Canada, USA, Mexico, Europe, and Asia.
