Cima+ is looking for a Transit Systems Engineer for our Calgary, or Vancouver office.

We are interested in qualified individuals, with 7 or more years of experience in multiple aspects of transit system engineering.

CIMA+ is involved with several Transit Authorities in designing, improving and replacing existing support systems such as Passenger Information, Public address, Video Surveillance, SCADA and Intrusion detection Systems.

established, multidisciplinary, Canadian engineering firm established in Eastern Canada that has been rapidly expanding operations into Western Canada.


The successful candidate will be working directly with CIMA+’s transit clients. He / she will :

  • be involved in all phases of systems engineering projects including : Needs assessment Specifications Requirements gathering Conceptual design Design reviews Cost Estimations Procurement Oversight and Coordination of Contractor(s)’ implementation Quality Assurance (QA) of the system implementation
  • be responsible for the overall progress of the project (project management)
  • oversee on-site system installation
  • develop and maintain relationship with existing and new clients
  • review designs and propose modification
  • participate actively in the proposal process
  • Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience and P.Eng. Licence
  • Experience working with transit agencies is an asset
  • Experience with Passenger Information, Public Address, Phone, video surveillance and telecommunication systems is an asset
  • Experience in requirements gathering and organizing is required. Experience with IBM DOOR NG would be an asset
  • Experience in writing RFP for the client or writing RFP responses
  • Knowledge of industrial and telecommunication protocols (such as OPC, Ethernet, IP, SONET, REST / JSON Interface, GTFS) is required
  • Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to technical and VP-level audiences is required
