The position will be responsible for :

1)Full cycle bookkeeping duties :

a.A / P and A / R full cycle

b.Daily accounting journal entries and overseeing the General Ledgers

c.Ensure accurate time entry in the system for payroll processing

d.Ensuring other payments like insurance fees etc. are paid in timely fashion

e.Government remittances, including HST, GST, PST, WCB

f.Maintaining company capital asset ledger and ensuring depreciation etc. are accounted for properly

g.Overseeing payroll (outsourced) and benefits administration

h.Prepare pre-bills and final-bills, including disbursements

i.Reconciliations and performing month-end accounting procedures

2)Assist with the audit procedures : annual, practice and software audits

3)Communicate financial information to the leaders

4)Financial Reporting, as requested by the leaders

5)Maintaining the database with accurate information

6)Preparing budgets and financial statements

7)Trust Accounting-post trust account transactions, maintain trust ledgers, submit trust administration remittances. Qualifications Job Qualifications :

1)3+ years of experience in accounting

2)Assets :

  • Experience working as an accountant within a law firm / legal environment
  • ProLaw background
  • QuickBooks experience
  • Trust accounting exposure
  • 3)Skills : Strong financial analysis skills, ability to work independently, ability to make recommendations, prioritize and meet deadlines, tech savvy, good communications skills, detail-oriented

    4)Designation will be an asset but not required

    5)Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle required; Office not accessible by public transit and requires the ability to drive into the location
