Wood is actively recruiting individuals for the following temporary / adhoc offshore position : Fitter / Boiler

  • At this time, we will only consider applications from Canadian citizens or those with the required permit / VISA for this region, in place.
  • NOTE : This position will require to travel to offshore Newfoundland and Labrador via helicopter or supply vessel. Individuals must be comfortable working in remote locations, confined spaces, and heights.

    Detailed Description

    Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to :

  • Executing construction, installation and commissioning activities in accordance to agreed guidance documents (ie : workpacks) associated with pressure and mechanical systems
  • Maintaining the operational integrity of piping and mechanical systems and equipment
  • Proficiency in the use of tooling for cutting, bolting, tensioning, and pressure testing
  • Job Requirements

    Candidates should possess the following qualifications :

  • Inter-Provincial Journeypersons Certificate (Steamfitter / Pipefitter or Boilermaker) or Inter-Provincial Ironworker Journeyperson’s Certificate.
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and / or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved may also be considered.

  • Broad working knowledge of drilling and process related pressure equipment (ie : piping, vessels, exchangers, flanges, fittings, gaskets, valves, etc.)
  • Strong working knowledge of industrial rigging practices and equipment.
  • Proficient in the interpretation of technical drawings, workpacks, and piping specifications.
  • Familiar with pressure testing and commissioning procedures / documentation for pressure equipment.
  • For this position, training is required for offshore travel.While it is preferred that candidates already have the below certifications, some training may be provided.

    oBasic Survival Training (BST) including HUET and HUEBA.

    oHydrogen Sulphide (H2S) Alive.

    oWorkplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS 2015).

    oOffshore Safety Regulatory Awareness
