PURPOSE

Supports the development implementation control and compliance with the organisations Quality Management System including the provision of support to the development implementation and control of all Quality Assurance processes standards methodologies and metrics.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and maintain test environments and execute qualificationactivities.
  • Understand and translate functional requirements and technicalspecification into test cases.
  • Create and maintain manual and automatedtest cases.
  • Design and run manual and scripted tests.
  • Use existing test tools (Microsoft Test Manager / Team FoundationServer) and where necessary propose new tools to automate the qualificationprocess to reduce test cycles' duration and overall time to completion.
  • Provide detailed analysis of all testing carried out on the testenvironment ensuring all bugs and issues are logged correctly.
  • Analyse test results and provide recommendations to thedevelopment team.
  • Report project qualification status and, where required, issueescalation in a timely manner ensuring the development team is aware ofoutcomes.
  • Establish accurate estimates of work for the qualification of thesoftware components.
  • Champion and communicate Quality Assurance industry standards forsoftware development.
  • Together with the team, evaluate the quality issues and seek to continuouslyimprove the existing processes.
  • EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a QA environment including experience with current software testing methodologies functional testing integration testing and user acceptance testing.
  • KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

  • Detailed knowledge of and ability to apply QA principles theories concepts and techniques.
  • Good understanding of SITA policies and processes contributing to their development and establishment.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be the lead QA for projects.
  • Demonstrate competent use of quality assurance tools.
  • Demonstrate an appreciation of SITA both functionally and across solution lines.
  • Contribute to the implementation of solutions that reflect strategic long-term direction and planning.
  • Reasonable understanding of technology and competitive positioning of technology - driven business solutions preferably SITA applications / solutions.
  • Knowledge of business standards and maturity models e.g. ISO9001 CMMI etc.
  • Able to demonstrate a range of sector experience.
  • Specific experience of airline industry would be of benefit.
  • Strong business software application skills (MS Excel Access Word PowerPoint Project).

  • University degree or equivalent preferably in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or similar.
  • ISEB Foundation qualification or recognised country-specific qualification desirable.
