We are seeking energetic and enthusiastic people for the role of Planner / Scheduler - Senior for Vancouver Office. This role will involve leading the development and maintaining the project schedule(s) with collaboration from project managers / construction managers and inputs from Engineering, procurement, subcontractors & client, to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
With varied engineering, procurement and construction options, your skilled guidance in influencing project plan execution is crucial to the delivery of sustainable and successful outcomes for our clients.
Key result areas & accountabilities will include :
Establishing and managing project schedules for Engineering, Procurement and Construction phases in Primavera P6, for all elements of work;
ensuring that activities are updated accurately and on a regular basis.
Applying resource loading for establishing optimal crew / staffing plans
Ensure Project Schedule activities are coded by the project work breakdown structure and interface to the controls systems for progress / forecast analysis
Facilitating IPS’s (Interactive Planning Sessions) for the project, leading sessions with discipline leads, vendors and third parties, collecting progress data and organising into logical forms.
Determining and establishing the critical path, ensuring that critical path reflects project execution strategy.
Conducting recovery plans, contingency planning and schedule compression techniques
Performing schedule risk analysis (gather data, input data, analyze, report) on a periodic basis or as required.
Incorporating scope changes and trends into project schedules.
Preparing project documentation related to project planning and monitoring.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the Planning and Project Controls Management Framework to deliver best practice solutions by applying knowledge of industry developments and experience of past trends or difference situations.
Comply with relevant Ausenco policies and procedures and work within legal and regulatory frameworks.
An Engineering degree or equivalent experience is required with 15+ years’ experience in project scheduling in the field of engineering and construction, with particular emphasis on minerals and metals in an EPC / EPCM environment.
Project Controls management experience is highly desirable.
Practical knowledge of :
Scheduling Software Primavera P6 & MS Project.
Familiarity with cost control database
Strong conceptual and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
As this position requires significant amount of cooperation with other individuals excellent interpersonal and team playing skills are essential for success.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with good commercial acumen and with experience of interfacing with clients.
