Department Overview TDBG spends over $5 billion each year with suppliers. The Strategic Sourcing Group’s (SSG) role, in collaboration with our business partners, is to create sustainable competitive advantage for TDBG by leveraging this 3rd-

party spend and the expertise of our key suppliers to meet our needs, reduce total cost and mitigate supply-related risks.

Our role is global in scope and we are on a journey within our department, and more broadly across the organization, to transform the way we do sourcing, purchasing and vendor management.

Fri 8 : 30am - 5pm Business line Other Job Category - Primary Management Consulting Advisory Job Category(s) Management Consulting Advisory Job Description This role reports to the AVP Enterprise Vendor Management, Enterprise Vendor Management Office, (SSG).

  • Manage / oversee strategic, critical and complex vendor relationship(s) that span multiple business segments (designated Enterprise Vendors) with high regulatory requirements through all stages of the Third Party Management Lifecycle, in alignment with relevant TD frameworks / methodologies;
  • provides leadership, direction and mentorship to team(s) including responsibility for interviewing, hiring, training, developing and performance evaluations;
  • takes the lead in the development of strategic direction, operating budget, delivery of business objectives, efficiencies, innovation, and people management to support growth objectives of the line of business and the Bank

    Key accountabilities include :

  • Lead the management and coordination at an Enterprise Level of 1 or more of TD's largest Enterprise Vendors, that impact multiple business segments across the Bank, gaining support, consensus, and input from internal and external executive partners
  • Play a key role in setting the direction for TD's relationship with the Enterprise Vendor(s) through the development and management of vendor strategies, and coordinating with Line of Business Vendor Management Offices (VMOs) and teams within SSG to effectively implement these vendor strategies and development plans
  • Ultimately responsible for ensuring a beneficial relationship with the Enterprise vendor(s), which includes : Leadership and oversight of pan-
  • TD vendor governance, including executive level meetings with TD / Vendor executivespan-TD performance management,provision of consolidated financial, compliance and performance reporting to the EVMO and Executive Leaderslead and facilitate enterprise-

    wide remediation plans for vendor-related risks and issues raised to the EVMContinuous improvement initiatives

  • Support the designated executive owner of the Enterprise Vendor relationship, in order to enable them to be effective in performing their key accountabilities, which include : Ownership of the overall TD / Vendor relationshipUltimate escalation point for all vendor related issues and risksStrategic alignment between TD and the vendor to drive mutually beneficial relationships
  • Provide strategic guidance as appropriate to business partners and Line of Business VMOs, regarding Vendor Management (VM) best-
  • practices and developments to the EVM strategies

  • Leads implementation of projects and initiatives to maximize value from third-party spend in the context of enterprise and business-
  • specific goals and objectives

  • Provides strategic input and support to the Sourcing Execution teams for sourcing category analysis / planning, vendor analysis and plays a significant part in contract negotiations (MSA and EMSA)
  • Actively partner with Sourcing Execution teams to devise and implement various strategic sourcing strategies to standardize / centralize sourcing activity, reduce the cost of goods and services, reduce the supplier base, or improve internal controls
  • Oversee review and verification of negotiated rates, volume thresholds against aggregated spend, invoice charges, agreement compliance and other contractual obligations in line with expense authorization limits as outlined in the TDBG Expense Policy
  • Remain apprised of all Third Party risk management related policies and regulatory requirements, identify issues and their business impact ensure business and vendor Support the identification and development of process-
  • improvement strategies to generate efficiencies and ensure vendor compliance to internal policy

  • Draw on knowledge and expertise of supply market and vendor(s) to provide decisive support / guidance / input as appropriate for the purpose of vendor analysis, strategic planning, and selection
  • Coach, lead and mentor other EVMs vendor managers, providing regular performance assessments to employees and their people managers
  • Job Requirements You possess the following skills and attributes :

  • Strong knowledge of the Vendor Management function and operations, with a proven track record of driving benefits and positive impact with large, complex vendor relationships.
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous and changing circumstances, able to handle complex situations independently and determine what issues require escalation, what to resolve and how to make suggestions for improvement
  • Thought leader and strategic thinker, with a future-focused mindset on how to drive the business forward
  • Effective influencer, partner and collaborator, willing to bridge across different teams and functions to deliver quality results
  • Strong judgement and decisiveness, with the ability to act with speed and agility
  • Skilled at absorbing steady streams of information (both financial and non-financial), synthesize key insights or issues and communicate findings in a concise and compelling fashion
  • Strong executor, able to navigate the organization to effectively get things done
  • Willingness to learn and a natural curiosity for exploring a wide variety of topics
  • Integrity and a high degree of ethics, given access to sensitive information regarding the Bank, the business, results, etc.
  • Additional Information Specific Education Requirements :

    Post-secondary education and / or equivalent experience

    MBA or CPP designation would be an asset
