Summary :

TheManager, Community Giving is responsible for developing and implementing astrong plan using defined fundraising products and initiatives to maximizesupport from the community by enhancing volunteer engagement opportunities andsecuring philanthropic commitments.

Reportingto the Senior Manager, Community Engagement and covering a broad range ofduties, the Manager will recruit and develop relationships with a network oflocal supporters and volunteers who are willing to undertake fundraising eventsand initiatives to further the organization’s mission in the community.

Essential Duties entail (but not limited to) :

  • Developand implement a local plan using defined fundraising products and audiences, whichincludes solicitation strategiesto small businesses and service clubs, and community-
  • led (hybrid) andindependent third-party events.

  • Developa budget and monitor income forecasts in relation to the community giving plan.Meet $225,000 annual target
  • Managesignature event(s) Night Steps, Dining in the Dark, Neon Nights, and Gala inregional jurisdictions, recruit and manage planning committees.
  • Recruitnew donors and develop relationships with existing donors, identifying keylocal supporters and those with influence in the community.
  • Recruit,manage, retain and develop a network of volunteers, individuals, groups andcompanies to help deliver on targets and objectives.
  • Achievefinancial and non-financial targets through the execution of solicitationstrategies focused on a network of local supporters and volunteers.
  • Increaseawareness of the organization’s work through various communication channels andensure awareness campaigns are targeted to the areas with greatest potential.
  • Manage the recognition and stewardship of donorsand all gifts received in a timely manner.
  • Manage relationships with local service clubsand hold the primary relationship with the Lions clubs.
  • Ensureappropriate administration of donor and event information in the donor databaseand, where appropriate, supply reports and analyses to the Senior Manager,Community Engagement.
  • Workwith TeamRaiser and Raisers Edge systems.
  • Participate in team meetings to qualify,coordinate and prioritize community engagement opportunities.
  • Processexpenses and event reports in a timely manner.
  • Develop strong, collaborative relationships withstakeholders from all communities and backgrounds.
  • Communicate consistent messages with integrityand gain commitment from different audiences.
  • Develop clear, workable plans and establish key,cost-effective strategies for achieving day-to-day goals.
  • Diagnose problems, provide innovative solutionsand make logical, timely decisions.
  • Workcollaboratively with fund development staff members to deliver on team targetsand goals.
  • Encourage and develop a climate of learning,passion and eagerness to improve to meet organizational goals.
  • Shape products / initiatives based on donor needsto provide the highest quality and consistency of support.
  • Qualifications : (Education, Training, Experience) :

    Knowledge and Skill Requirements :

  • Excellent communication skills; comfortableconversing with a variety of people in different situations
  • Excellent writtencommunication and oral presentation skills
  • Knowledge of privacy legislation and able toconduct business in accordance with the CFRE / AFP / CAGP code of ethics
  • Comfortable working in a high-pressure,fast-paced environment
  • Thoroughness, timeliness, flexibility and anability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applicationsas well as other software applications such as CRM (familiarity with Raiser’sEdge software a plus)
  • Ability to work effectively in a teamenvironment
  • Ability to develop andmaintain positive, productive relationships with senior volunteers
  • Resourceful,results-oriented with a positive, "can do" attitude
  • Experience andEducation :

    Post-secondary schooldegree required

  • Minimum three years funddevelopment or relevant experience
  • Ability to commute within the Easter region
