This role will provide the opportunity to make a unique and measurable impact on transforming our business by being part of the equipment / fleet analytic team and developing a new approach to improve the customer experience.
As a Reporting Analyst, you will be supporting the development of a state-of-the-art analytical solutions that improve equipment / fleet mechanical availability, productivity, and reduce total ownership cost all while driving improved customer loyalty.
Your tasks would include leveraging multiples data inputs received from our heavy equipment fleet and converting this information into an actionable report for our Condition Monitoring team.
As a member of the Condition Monitoring team, you will work to enhance diagnostic and predictive capabilities of our existing digital solutions and develop new solutions.
In this role you will be the primary link between our Digital team and Condition Monitoring team to provide real-time equipment analyses to our Performance Solution team.
This role will report directly to the Condition Monitoring Manager and will be responsible to explore different data bases and create reports that are in an easy to understand format for different groups within the Performance Solution team.
This role will be key to identify various and different type of sales, customer & branch support opportunities by analyzing, understanding and providing detailed heavy equipment data reports.

Communicate and translate quantitative findings (storytelling with data), identify and interpret trends and relationships to product and business stakeholders
Identify requirements and build predictive analytics methodology and tools that are statistically grounded but also operationally explainable, applying agile development methodology that accounts for models that intelligently adapt to changing attributes and requirements
Participate with our Digital team in developing different data analytics pipelines to process raw data, extract features, identify trends, predict outcomes, and recommended actions
Research machine learning algorithms and implement by tailoring to particular business needs and tested on large datasets and communicating your findings in internal research settings
Identify, examine, and process raw data, trends, analysis, and assessments in order to collect information, leverage both analytic and visualization tools, and design and deliver infographics across a range of platforms
Explore and identify data available from different data source
Produce effective report to relate equipment key information in an easy readable manner.
Creates standard and ad hoc reports and provides information and analysis to business operations team
In consultation with operations team members, develops data analysis tools to address business requirements
Specific Skills & Knowledge :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to deliver effective presentations that explain complex topics in simple terms
Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with capability to look at numbers, trends, and data to form new conclusions based on findings
Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools such as Tableau and Infographics with demonstrated ability to work within Adobe Creative Suite
Graphic design skills considered an asset
Team player with the capacity to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
Can-do attitude, motivated by the challenge of developing and implementing a new process & program
Understanding Finning business and goals
Understanding of asset management, telematics, monitoring, insights, condition monitoring, predictive maintenance, health reports, fluid analysis, technical inspections and technical reference data.
Big Data Analytics, PowerBI, Cloud infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Analytics and Data Warehouse tools and technologies
Education & Experience :
Post-Secondary education in business, computer science or data science
Minimum of 5 years experience in business analytics, performance reporting or a related field
Strong requirements gathering, decision making, project management, problem solving, and investigative skills
Technical aptitude for understanding relational databases, dimensional modeling and data warehousing
Experience in statistical analysis and data mining preferred
