Tax Content Analysts are tax law subject matter experts who apply their expertise at both a tactical (team) and strategic (organizational) level.
Develop requirements that are used to gather tax data , calculate tax scenarios and ensure compliance with tax authority regulations .
They may use specialized tools, templates and frameworks to :
I nterpret tax laws into logical algorithms / requirements that are used to create our tax offerings.
Develop business rules to ensure compliance with requirements
Validate tax scenarios for completeness and accuracy focusing on the entire tax experience across products, federal / provincial, and individual / business.
Analyze tax data to determine customer usage and impact, assess risks to tax scope and help develop risk mitigation strategies
Tax Content Analysts may also assist scrum teams in writing requirements, prioritizing backlogs, and serving as the voice of the customer from a tax perspective
Strong understanding of Personal taxes
Tech savvy to be able to identify all the calculations that needs to be done to get a complete set of calculations for all forms that a tax return can have.
Understand a little more on the technical side - comfortable with looking at code - TKE code or TTD (they can learn this)
