We are currently seeking a Business student to join our Project Business Services Team. In this role, you will provide estimating, cost and scheduling support to a portfolio of projects being managed by the Project Development and Execution Department.

Specific work content will vary depending on the portfolio of projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Working with the Project Team to develop project estimates for Capital and Expense projects
  • Data analysis and ad hoc database development to support the estimating team

    Support the Project Controls lead by completing monthly cost reports for active projects

    Update project cost and schedule forecasts monthly based on performance, progress and Key Performance Indicators

    Prepare monthly stewardship reports and other status reports

    Identifying and auctioning project trends for cost and schedule changes

    Ad hoc analysis as required to support the project team and project control lead

    Provide monthly accrual information to Syncrude Project Accountants

    Ensure data integrity in Syncrude Project Control Systems

    Experience and Education

  • Must be enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year of a Business or Management program
  • Available for an 8 month term starting in January
  • Skills and Abilities :

  • Interest in working in a Project environment
  • Strong computer skills especially in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Primavera an asset
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Requirements :

  • Transcripts are required for consideration
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • Work Location

    This position is with Syncrude’s Project Development and Execution Department, located in Fort McMurray AB.
