Role The Information Technology and Operations Branch provides all of the operational management and support for Alberta Health's information technology infrastructure and applications such as the Provincial Registries systems.
Working within this branch, the Director has the overall accountability for providing leadership and direction in the provision of the information technology operation elements for the department and parts of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
With both a strategic and operational focus in mind, this position will work very closely with Alberta Health Services and the health professional colleges / associations on a daily basis.
These effective partnerships will support you as you collaborate on a variety of projects such as the continued implementation of the Electronic Health Record and other Provincial Registries initiatives.
Utilizing your strong project management skills, analytical skills and proven leadership abilities to achieve results will ensure your success in this role.
Being a change champion and developing strategies to move projects forward are also key success factors. The ability to translate highly technical information so that it is easily understood by non-
technical stakeholders will ensure you build effective relationships.
Our ideal candidate is someone who demonstrates the following competencies :
Qualifications University degree (Master's preferred) in a related discipline such as computing science or business plus a minimum of 7 years of recent progressively responsible management experience in an information technology environment is required.
Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) and related legislation is preferred. Experience with leading projects, project management, stakeholder engagement and / or experience leading and supervising a team will be considered assets.
Equivalencies will be considered on a basis of 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.

Salary $4,037.95 to $5,127.61 bi-weekly ($105,390.50 to $133,830.62 annually)
